The Futuroscope

The second largest leisure park in France is less than 30 miles away. The Futuroscope is packed with innovative activities for all the family. Synonymous with moving image technology since 1987 the Futuroscope educates whilst it entertains. New attractions in 2010 included the breath taking 4D adventures of Arthur and the Minimoys, projected on a vast IMAX dome, and a unique perspective on the paintings of Vincent van Gogh. The site with its stunning architecture of crystals reflecting the sky, mirrored facades, domes and translucent cubes resembles a scene from a sci-fi movie. Poitiers
Nobody should miss Poitiers, the capital of the Poitou-Charentes region with 2000 years of rich history and one of France's main centres of Romanesque architecture. . Encircled by the Clain and Boivre rivers, Poitiers offers a network of quaint pedestrian streets and discovery trails dotted with quiet gardens and vibrant squares. The architectural gem is Notre-Dame-la-Grande, one of the region’s finest Romanesque churches. On summer nights, the elaborately sculpted façade is illuminated to recreate the colours of the original painted statues.
